ALEXANDREA MALLIA

FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

ACTRESS

What started as wanting to put up a play that she enjoyed, and her friends were perfect to be the cast, ended up becoming a prospering start-up theatre company only a year later.

Alexandrea Mallia is the Executive/Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Crow Theatre Co. Both an actor, producer, and director, she has been involved both on and off the stage for every Crow production since the company's birth. She was both the executive producer, director, and actor in Crow's inaugural production of A Common Martyr, by Michael Weems. Since then she has been the driving force that has kept the company alive and growing to amazing potential.

Alexandrea believes that with fierce determination, hard work, and an unending passion for the arts this small group of talented artists can make a real change within the beautiful theatrical community that lives here in NYC.

CROW THEATRE CO.

Crow Theatre Company was founded in 2018 by a group of friends who met through The Artist Gym, a Meisner technique acting class. All of them passionate artists, who no longer felt like waiting around to be cast, decided to take fate in their own hands and start their own theatre company.

After the huge success of their first performance of A Common Martyr, by Michael Weems, the company has since then gone on to produce two other shows within the past year of Crow Theatre Co.'s inauguration. (A Real Bitch, by Crow's own Halley Platz, at the Hudson Guild Theatre, for the NYC Winter Play Festival. And Pizza Man, by Darlene Craviotto, at the Bridge Theater at Shetler Studios.)

As well as planning for many more years of a large variety of different theatrical performances. Both original content and classic favorites. This ensemble of artists are hungry to work and always excited to get great and risk taking work on the stage, and even on the camera.

“I think I'm an actor because I have very strong imagination and empathy. I never studied acting, but those two qualities are exactly the qualities that make for an activist.” Susan Sarandon
